Anette Olzon's demo songs

In April, Anette announced, that she's not going to release a solo album. Today, she launched 2 raw demo songs "Floating" and "Invincible" on her official MySpace page. Later on, Anette will add another song. Read Anette's description of the songs.

So, what do you think about the songs?

I like them. It's nice too hear "other" musical side of Anette.

Wow... these sound.... interesting... Very different than I expected. Both songs remind me of Enya a little bit. Not quite the same obviously, but it has that kind of a feel. I liked "Invincible" better than "Floating". I think her voice has improved significantly no question.. either that or maybe this is the music she was destined for and not symphonic heavy metal. But yeah, not bad and her voice really did fit the music very well. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it certainly is better than most pop on the radio these days.

It is different from what I expected it to be. But they are just demos, so maybe after the mixing they would sound different.

I actually like "Floating" more. The song makes me smile and reminds me of summer.

Anette said back in 2009 that the songs are combo of "Enya & guitars".
I also appreciate that she wrote the songs herself.

I quite like these, actually. They are mellow and pleasant and showcase her voice well. I really like "Invincible." I wasn't sure what to expect when she started this project but I now think this solo album has a lot of promise. Her voice sounds great; I never thought she had a bad voice, just that it wasn't quite right for NW. But I can tell she's worked on it quite a bit and it sounds like it's really improved. It actually gives me a bit of hope for the upcoming NW album, too.
