Finally, German Gothic metal band Xandria has announced its new singer! I have been waiting for this for a long time, since hearing that Kerstin Bischof left the band in February.
The new singer is Manuela Kraller, a 29 year old German soprano, who, excitingly enough, used to sing for Haggard! This is excellent news, and as I am a fan of Haggard, I am really looking forward to hearing Manuela singing with Xandria becuase I'm pretty sure she is going to be awesome.
More details here.
Here is the teaser video released by the band:
EDIT: Thanks to Almagest for finding me this clip of Manuela singing a cover of Tarja's "Sing for Me."

I'm gonna check this band out! I have heard a few songs of them but the vocals didn't allow me to fully enjoy the music. Now that I've found out they hired a lyrical singer I'll see if I can add them to my list of favourite bands!
I love that sing for me cover!
Hi Natalia, thanks for stopping by & commenting!
I think this is a great move and very promising, but I will always love Lisa Middlehauve, Xandria's original singer. She was very special and I thought quite unique for the genre. I'm pretty sure Manuela is going to rock, too, though!
I'm a somewhat new-ish fan of Xandria. Just got into them about 2 years ago after Lisa left and then she rejoined recently for their live dates. Here's hoping it works out for them. Lots of goth metal bands losing vocalists (Corantus lost both this year) and taking extended hiatuses (Within Temptation) for unforseen events. Really frustrating sometimes for the fans out there but we cope the best we can.
Hi Anonymous!
Yep, all we can do is cope and wait and hope for the best.
WT is still releasing their CD on time, I believe, it's just the tour that has been postponed. But if you live in Europe & bought tickets, yeah, that's a piss-off for sure.
In the case of Coronatus, did you know that they've replaced their vocalists? Here is a link:

I haven't heard her voice yet...Perhaps I should get around to her MySpace page.
